Andray Blatche is headed to China. The 28-year-old free agent centre has signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal with Xianjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers. The deal allows Blatche to return to the NBA in March in time for the playoff drive. Blatche appeared in 73 games for the Nets last season, seeing his role grow when Brook Lopez went down with a year-ending foot injury. He averaged 11.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and shot 47.3 per cent from the field in 22.2 minutes a game. He played in all 12 of the Nets playoff games. The Toronto Raptors had met with Blatche in early July, but nothing materialized. They got ahead in counts and didnt give us anything to hit. They were both very good the past two days. “We couldnt really get more aggressive against them because as good as they are, when you get overly-aggressive, it often makes for five- or six-pitch innings and that way, you dont get into their bullpen.
